Snow Storm :)

Post by Chibi Rachy »

Anyone else part of the huge snow storm that's hitting the east coast? This sucker grew from being a maybe snow showers to a full blown storm in a week's time. So far it's hit us pretty hard...there's 9 inches on my porch and near probably that on the ground below; I'll find out when I venture out later on to do some shoveling.

No one is traveling though, and before the snow plows started, you couldn't tell the road from the street. They still can't get the road cleared yet. It's supposed to snow pretty good til 4 PM and then let up a bit. I think it's beautiful to watch from my window.

I know there are some PA folks around here, but I'm not sure if you were getting part of the storm or not.

We must have gotten it here in Michigan, or at least the part that I'm in. Our first big snow storm was a week ago and it eventually began melting. Then I woke up this morning to see complete white out conditions. It pretty much played out with getting up, oppening the blinds, looking unamused and closing them.

lol nice. At 3:30 this afternoon the weather channel reported 21 inches in my town. Biggest storm in a long time, especially for December

It was snowy in Ohio. Twink ran out to play in it and all I could see was his feet.

We have it here, it was pretty snowy on Saturday, we had a Christmas party to go to, and the roads were bad. I'd say we didn't reach over 20 mph, and we were still sliding a bit, that's how bad it was. They just started to get the plows out when were returning home. Not to mention a few accidents over the weekend. (Was not involved).

I know Philly and DC got it worse than us :/

Hope everyone stays safe for the holidays!

I couldn't help whenbut laugh over here of what I saw on the news. The snow ball fights and people stranded. That much snow is the usual expected over here, which we have not seen yet (quite odd). It really sucks for you guys who don't have the re-reinforcements that clear it away though. Usually roads are good next day here. But yikes to all those people who do not know how to drive in it. That alone is the worst. Plus it gets really cold which is just as bad minus 31 c .

We don't usually get storms so big, maybe once every few years or so. We certainly don't get such a huge storm in December and it broke previous records held in the Baltimore/DC area. I don't drive in such bad weather because I don't like to. I'd rather stay cooped up inside and safe. My street is a dead end street and still half icy. The town is pretty good looking though. What cracks me up is that the mayor did the usual "free parking in town until January 3" spiel and you can't get to any of the meters to do so cause they're all blocked with snow.
