Or you can find them a plenty at thrift stores and garage sales galore. I could not stand to eat mc donalds I stopped after I heard of bi products and they way they roll when I was 13.

I just want Hallmark to do the decent thing and release them old skool at their stores in different forms that alone would make me happy. Seriously like look at Carlton Cards, even their stores are better than Hallmark. Hallmark carries so much other random junk and hardly caters to their own product lines. Clean up your stores and sell Rainbow Brite ornaments each year!

I was kidding when I said "why buy the toys seperately when you can have the meal with it?" That's an awful lot of happy meals you'd have to eat in order to get all the toys, and obviously that's not very healthy ;)

I have a question, does anyone think that they will be coming out with more toys than just the 10" dolls, horses, the 15" Rainbow Brite, and the sprites?

I mean like Puppy Brite, or other makes of the dolls/playsets/coloring books/games/puzzles etc.

Probably. They're just starting small to see how the franchise does.

There is a much more positive reaction to the new dolls over at the MLP Trading Post. http://tinyurl.com/yhvf2u8

Very nifty. I hope there are additional outfits for the dolls eventually.

I have to say, I was really excited about how those figures might look, but now I´m very disapointed.
I mean, they are not bad, but except the clothing, they seem in no way "rainbow-briteish" to me.

As someone said before, they more look like a limited edtion of Bratz than an re-newed version of Rainbow Brite. And what is worse: (just my own private opinon) the market is full of toys similar to these - what´s the incentive for supposed new customers to buy them, if they aren´t special/different in any way to similar toys which are already established on the market? I really hope they will sell well, but I´m afraid, they won´t.

Why do I hope they will sell well anyway? Because I hope they will do a really cool TV-Series then - that would be absolutely great :)

By the way - I really don´t like the horses. Well, Starlite always had a kind of feminine look, but this isn´t a feminine look, this is a total girl´s look (look at those eyes??? this really isn´t a male horse).

However, I think they look like crossing Barbie´s horses with My Little Pony.

Oh - about the figures again: I think they look more like a re-edition of Lady Lovely-Locks than of Rainbow Brite.

I hope they don´t ruin the spirtes (If they´ll make any). They have to be cute and furry (I´m very afraid what they might look in final... :)

Whew...finally back from vacation so I can spend some time absorbing these images. I really like the horses - I think they're gorgeous. Hopefully the hair will stay looking as neat when taken out of the package. I also think the girls' clothes and hair are cool - although I wish Rainbow's hair was a little longer (and curlier). My one complaint would be the girls' faces. I'm not sure what it is I don't like about the face paint...but something about it rubs me the wrong way. I think perhaps I was expecting something a bit more "cutesy" than this - more along the lines of Strawberry Shortcake. But it could've been MUCH worse! I'll happily buy them all :)

Can't wait to see the Sprites!!

Thanks for posting these RB.co.uk :)

I'm kind of on the fence on these. I don't hate them, but I definitely not in love with them. I think whats bothering me is that they gave their faces very pronounced cheeck bones. But I'm still excitedly waiting for the dolls to come out!

Oh wow. What a change. I actually liked the design art better than the real product. I like Rainbow Brite least of the three--hair way too short. Come to think of it all their hair is too short and slick...I happen to like big poofy hair. Bring back the 80's, not every girl needs to have slick oily hardly-a-hair-on-her-head hair these days. Something about their faces also rubs me the wrong way, but I feel that could've been helped if they had much bigger hair. They could've also looked more...innocent? Young? I don't know what's missing exactly but something is. Moonglo went through the most change but she looks the best so far.

Star Voyager, where are you? I still haven't heard your thoughts.... :P

I was really excited when I heard they were gonna be plastic dolls. When I was little I loved Strawberry Shortcake and similar small dolls and I had wished they had gone that route with Rainbow Brite in addition to the plush dolls.

I just had a thought. What if they release the Color Kids later on and they are actually kids? I think that would be pretty neat.
