So far, I've managed to acquire two vintage doll posters. I'm assuming these were in-store advertisements. Does anybody else own similar or different ones? I wonder how many were released?

Actually they were Mattel give-away posters. We have a scan of an ad giving one of them away listed here:https://www.rainbowbrite.co.uk/index.ph ... ter-ad-174
This poster (second you have listed) was in a Mattel "Barbie" Magazine, the other was probably given out in another Mattel Magazine, either "He-Man" or "She-ra" or some other magazine they had at the time. They had a few different Mattel magazines in 1985. There are advertisements to order Masters of the Universe magazines in the Barbie magazines for example.
Because these were free mail-in offers, I'm not sure if we could know the number of how many they actually printed, though I'm sure not many have survived.

Huh. I'm surprised that give-away posters would have the character names written on it. That seems more like a toy store item, to help parents buy the right product. *shrugs*

Names are on the poster? Sorry, I didn't notice that.
If you think it was a promo poster, I suppose it could be, though having the names of dolls listed could also be for the child's benefit as well as the parent. Not a lot of children at that age could read well. And it could be the names weren't listed on the advertisement because they were too small to read. Can't say for sure, though if anything you know an identical poster without names was advertised as a giveaway.
