Grad School

Post by Chibi Rachy »

I'm so happy, I just had to share this. I just received my letter of acceptance for graduate school. I'm quite pleased. I'll be doing an online program through Walden University and getting my Masters in Integrating Technology into Education K-12. I'm choosing to work and get my degree at the same time. I really do not like going to the school setting and living on campus, etc. Anyone who knows me knows I love fooling with technology and find it quite fun. Taking this degree also means it makes me more marketable as a teacher. Anyway, I had to share cause it's a big thing for me.

Anyone else have any good news to share?

Congratulations on getting into a grad program! :rbwave:
Do you currently have your teaching certificate? What grade level do you teach?

I'm thinking about getting a second Master's degree (or possibly a PhD), but I haven't picked a school yet. I guess it will really depend on where I land a job.

Thanks!

Yep, I do :) My undergrad certified me for Elementary K-6 and Early Ed Pre-K-K. I currently teach 5th grade, but have no idea what grade I'll have next year.

Good luck figuring out what whether or not to get another degree. I went online so that if I had to move or something, I wouldn't have to worry about switching schools.

Ah nice :) I love the preschool age, but the paperwork drives me crazy. I stick to coaching that age group instead XD

Ah, I salute the two of you for working with the younger grades. I teach middle school; no little ankle-biters for me, thanks.

A lot of people think I'm weird for wanting to work with the middle school/junior high aged students due to their rapidly fluctuating hormones, but I rather like them: they're smart enough to carry on an intelligent conversation because they're at the stage in their development where they can understand abstract concepts, but they still retain some of that lower-el cuteness that you don't find in high schoolers.
