RB Costume

Post by Chibi Rachy »

Thought I'd share this, since someone might be interested. Was browsing on eBay (don't see why I do when I have no money to spend) and came across this costume link for an adult costume that actually looks like Rainbow's, and not one of those "sexy" variations. Seller has different listings for the different sizes and the price isn't too bad, since it's the usual rate for any sort of Halloween costume these days. Although, I don't think I'd trust seller, based on feedback...seems that the customer service end is terrible. Still nice to look at though :)

too bad it's the same guy doing the selling though. I dunno. I think I might still risk it if I had the money. Maybe.

Me too. The funny thing is, that costume isn't supposed to be for Rainbow Brite, but some online shops pass it off as such, same as well the new green one that they'll say is for Patty.

I did some research on the seller though... definitely seems slimy. They have an ebay acount, sell on amazon.com, and a base website. The ratings left on both amazon and ebay are very similar. Apparently, you've got good luck if the costume you order isn't: the wrong size, cheap fabric, or the wrong thing. Otherwise, you'll have a terrible time trying to get a refund. Haven't been able to find it sold anywhere by a different seller though.

No prob :) I only wish I could find it elsewhere. I'd like to get a costume someday, but I want it to actually look like Rainbow. I have absolutely no skills myself so I'd have to find someone to make it for me. It's too bad you can't find her costume for sale that looks like the old McCall's one you could sew yourself.

I wonder if I could put one together at some point. I've gotten the hang of making costumes with the cosplaying I do at conventions. I'll have to work on that and let everyone know. I know I don't much care for the one linked.
"I hope you know what you're doing, Rainbow."
"You still doubt me, after all this time?"
"I don't doubt," Krys said as he paused at the door. "I worry."

While it may not be the best, it's still better than the sexy version available, which is completely way out in left field. The best costumes are the ones they do for kids, and I've not seen one better than the McCall's one.

Though, speaking of costumes when I was randomly googling something (can't remember what), I found a pic where someone had made the RB costume, but then made a baby costume of Twink and a costume of Canary Yellow as well.

Awww, that sounds really cute. I can see someone having sextuplets or something and dressing them all up as color kids when they're four or five for Halloween.
