There are also days when I have to forbid myself to feel too much world weariness.
I think it could be unhealthy for one s soul.

At this point in my life, I pretty much see only 3 practical uses for the news...
1. The Olympics
2. The Weather
3. Tracking the movement of radioactive fallout clouds

Good point Starvoyager !
Sometimes it s better to just ignore a good part of negative news !
Escapism to a certain degree can be rather salutary !

It's always "society this, society that", "things were better when I was a kid", etc. No matter what the generation, that's what you see.

gosh guys, what's all that doomsday talk? It was just a building that burned down, nobody got hurt as far as I know.
Yes there's many bad things happening in the world, but there's also the positive, and us good people should always remember that and do our own part to improve the overall situation as best as we can. Be there for your friends and family.

Because there are plenty of hidden "Debbie Downers" on the board when it comes to societal issues, that's why.SunSpire wrote:gosh guys, what's all that doomsday talk? It was just a building that burned down, nobody got hurt as far as I know.

I do not overstate! It's the truth. Every time something on society comes up, it's always the downsides, whether relating to toys or whatnot. I'm still waiting to hear a spiel beginning, "Well, back in my day..."Starvoyager wrote:Maybe it's.... dark sarcasm in the classroom.Tom-sprite wrote::-)))))
