Re: Moon Dreamers
I absolutely loved Moondreamers when I was little..had books and toys of them and everything...Rainbow Brite I don't think aired where I lived..either that or it was done by the time I was old enough to grasp anything...but...after I got into Rainbow Brite I kinda see Moondreamers as a rip off of Rainbow Brite...it looks a little obvious BUT I still loved it :D lol I still have three books in a collection but i'm not able to get at it right now. I don't think I have my dolls anymore my mom prably gave them away in a garage sale *rolls eyes*

Re: Moon Dreamers
aw, wendy your dolls were given away? That sucks
Anyway, I LOVED moondreamers too! Blinky is my fav because she looks like tickled pink. I don't like the dolls as much however, because theyre so small. I think it would be awesome if moondreamers were made in the exact size and style as the dress up rainbow brite dolls. I'd buy em all for sure then!

Re: Moon Dreamers
I'll have to admit that I completely forgot about Moon Dreamers until a few months ago, when I stumbled upon the show on Youtube. Maybe a couple seconds into the opening of the show I was like "I know this! I've seen this before ..... a long time ago." It's a good show, albeit more than a little inspired by Rainbow Brite, but that's cool. Who knows? Maybe a genre could have been invented from the two shows.
My favorite is probably a close call between Whimzee and Dream Gazer.
No collection here. I didn't even have any of the dolls as a kid. I only vaguely remembered the show and it took watching it for me to realize that. Cool show anyway.

@ the Wendybird :
Do you really think Moondreamers is some kind of ripp-off of rainbow-brite ?
... the story is so different don t you think and the characters are too . ;-)
I think it is hard for creators to work out something totally new because mostly everything was used before ! ;-)
I watched some episodes on youtube ... so sweet and funny ! :-)))))))))))))
It wasn t aired where I lived I guess ... so I have to catch up on it ! :-D

Re: Moon Dreamers
I have an opinion on this. I think that while the show is just as sweet and innocent as rainbow brite, its different enough to not be a rip-off. The characters DID make me think "more rainbow brite characters!" as soon as I saw them. But I actually think that's a good thing. I really like rb characters and more of them is better.Tom-sprite wrote:@ the Wendybird :

Re: Moon Dreamers
I prove you right Dialga-brite ! The chara-designs are quite similar ( both similar to the japanese.:"Chibi"style/small-style) ...

Re: Moon Dreamers
Well I didn't mean literally a rip off..just loose sense of the phrase. The characters are very similar in style that's all. And it's otherworldly too :D
