News: The New Rainbow Brite Images

To All:

Those at Hallmark and United Media have released to us the new images of Rainbow Brite herself, as well as higher quality images of her, Starlite, and the new Logo, as well as the final press release for the new line.

However, the content is not much different then what we already knew. I have put the new images on the website.

It seems they have decided to give Rainbow's belt a make over, and the star is in fact a crystal and she is carrying a magic wand.

I wouldn't say the "wand" was any more "borrowed" from that picture then it borrows from Anime. The wands/staffs from Cardcaptor Sakura or Sailor Moon look similar. And the "Wand"is the only thing that IS similar. The new costume looks like this one:

I think the design IS anime influenced.

The character design it self looks like the new Polly Pocket. I don't think they "stole" the design. But rather it is inspired.

These styles are what kids want right now.

Does anyone have the "Paint a Rainbow in your Heart" record handy? Mine's packed away somewhere, but if I remember correctly, there's a picture of RB on the back holding a star wand...but it's supposed to be conductor's baton I believe. Maybe that's where they got it from? I just hope they don't start tying her magic to the wand instead of the belt. The belt is how it all began!!

I own the record Rainbow, but it's not at my house currently. I do remeber the picture your talking about though. I can try to look for it if I get around to it.
