Hey there! I was wondering, since the song was uploaded onto this site for download, is it alright to use it for things? Like, say, a music video on YouTube? I'd certainly give credit, of course. Is the artist a member of the site? I'd really like to talk to her regarding something special.
Thanks in advance to any responses. I'm so glad a site like this exists ^-^

Re: Question about copyright
I'm the singer, but I didn't create the music, so I don't have full control over the song. But if you're just wanting to use it on a Youtube video or something of the like, that's fine

Re: Question about copyright
Hey! Thanks a lot ^_^ Whenever I'm needing to get into the mood to work on my RB doujinshi, I put that song on. It's a really fantastic remix.
"I hope you know what you're doing, Rainbow."
"You still doubt me, after all this time?"
"I don't doubt," Krys said as he paused at the door. "I worry."

It's a fan-comic. Basically fan art and fan fic combined. Muahahaha!SunSpire wrote:What's a doujinshi?

Re: Question about copyright
In case you haven't heard, YouTube has been muting some fan-made music videos that use songs that aren't authorized to be played there. However, I highly doubt they will pursue a theme song as old as Rainbow Brite, remixed or not.
Here's an article with an example of what it looks like if your video gets muted - the volume icon goes solid red and can't be adjusted and there's a notice underneath.

Re: Question about copyright
Yeah, a few of my favorites got muted thanks to that T-T I'm waiting for it to happen to a few of mine that I uploaded before I noticed their Audio Swap option. That's a really handy thing, if you ask me. At least, when you're just uploading regular soundless videos, which is what I'm doing.
I would hope the fact that the song is a cover would put them for a loop for a while. It'd probably take the copyright holders making a fuss to have anything happen.

Re: Question about copyright
Doujinshi, rather doujin work are a bit more involved. I wouldn't call your work a doujin per say unless you are getting it published. As the work meaning suggests such. Perhaps fan comic would be more so the correct name.

Re: Question about copyright
I know what a doujinshi is, and I did have plans to look into getting it published. I don't apply myself to large projects without the possibility of it panning out into something monetarily productive.
edit: My above explanation of it was just a quick translation into laymen's terms, without going into the gritty details. So, thank-you for the link to expand the thought to other people who might have been interested or curious.
