McDonald's Happy Meal Rainbow Brite Figures

I got 'em today

They're super cute! Even if they're not the greatest quality...lol. They're not bad quality exactly, just not quite as good as the other plastic figures. And only RB has a Hallmark Licensing copyright on it, so I imagine they came together as a set. The auction said that Starlite used to be a keychain, and I can see where something small broke off his head. But now I'm really curious if other RB characters were made like this! I also included a couple other figures in the pics just for size comparison.

Can you show us the markings on the bottom? Does it say both Hallmark and McDonald's?

I tried to get a pic of it, but it came out blurry. It just says "© Hallmark Licensing, Inc" on the back of RB's skirt.

Hmmm...usually McDonald's items are marked McDonald's, too. I suspect that these might be PR-only items, but not from a fast food promotion.

The seller told me that they originally came in bags, but she wasn't able to get multiple sets to keep some in their bags. That's interesting that toys usually say McD's on them too! But she was specific and said they were released at McD's in January of 06.
