I'm quite pleased. My latest cosplay is about finished...she would have shipped it this week, but she found an oil stain on the dress that goes under the main dress and is redoing that. I've already asked her for a quote on the next cosplay I'm having her make this fall when I have access to my club funds and it's very doable. I'll be doing this character, Aaeru:
The nice thing is that my Sibylla dress I'm having made for Neviril can be used for Aaeru too. I want to get Aaeru's other outfit next spring. Anyway, I'm excited to get my Neviril.
Finally, I'm working to get a ninja group together for Otakon. I found how to make a ninja outfit from footie PJs. It requires no sewing, and the headpiece is so easy to make. I tried it already. XD

I've got 2 possible people, and one girl happens to be the girl who's rooming with me. I was surprised.

I have to share these. They're too adorable not to. These are two commissioned magnets I paid for at Tekko a few weekends ago. They're of Aaeru and Neviril from Simoun of course. The artist had never seen the show, but she chose the perfect expressions for the characters. For the outfits being as intricate as they are, she did a swell job.

My ninja outfit is a go. My roommate and I are doing blue ninjas with black belt and covering. I got my PJs today and they fit perfectly. I still have a few things left to do with them.
Yesterday (rather impulsively) I bought my first genga. I couldn't resist as it was of Aaeru and Neviril kissing and just so...awesome. I'd kick myself if I didn't buy it and it ended up being sold to someone else. So I prevented that XD

Welcome to the dark side. Production art collecting is so very, very addictive. Although I must admit that Simoun artwork is not terribly common. Normally I only see production backgrounds with photocopied layout sketches.Chibi Rachy wrote:I bought my first genga.
Doug has a wonderful collection, including some rather rare post-production rilezu cels: http://dougcels.rubberslug.com/gallery/ ... esID=30073

Ah thanks for that link. So many nice ones Anything Simoun is rare, including fanwork. I'd only buy the artwork if it featured my favorites so... I could be broke if too many appear XD This is the one I bought: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v378/ ... n00876.jpgClinozoisite wrote:Welcome to the dark side. I believe someone said this would be addicting...
Anyway, I bought 2 more sets:
These two came together:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v378/ ... n01352.jpg
And this one is by itself:

All of these are from the same point in the anime. It's really very interesting to own the different parts used to make one particular scene!
It's Aaeru and Neviril once more so...yeah. I really wouldn't be buying them otherwise. Anyone have any suggestions on how to carefully store these? I should probably google it tonight... these are 9x12 so too big for the binder and clear protective sheet method used for clippings.
