@ Blondine :
I think it would be bad marketing if they don t sell in Europe.
Also it would be a little bit thankless cause there are many true fans her in Europe.
The new toys should be showing up at Toys R Us any day now!

I agree with you, Tom-sprite, but how much Gen 3 stuff do you see on ebay.de or ebay.uk? Almost nothing. As poorly as the Gen 4 launch has gone in the USA, I see no reason for them to make the same disaster again in Europe.

Let s not give up hope.
My expectations arent very big so I will not be disappointed.
My opinion is :
Hallmark could easily earn tons of money if they would produce a generation of toys that are very similar to the original 80s toyline.
This could easily cause a massive Retro-boom !
There are so manny parents who know old rainbow and loved her so much and I think many would love to buy their children such child-oriented and lovable toys.
Another strategy could be :
They commision a rainbow cartoon show and sell the new toyline.
It works so well ... look at Winx for example.
The key to success today : TV-shows,movies and video-games ... afterwards or simultaneously toys, merchandising etc.
I think the concept is almost always the same.

thank you very much chibi for letting us know that they're available online. I was checking, but then I just forgot. So thanks!
Now I just have to see if they sell to Canada, since the 'Canadian version' doesn't have them listed

Members here can do pickup service for you at local TRU's in their area and ship to you if you need to go that route.Sarah wrote:thank you very much chibi for letting us know that they're available online. But if they make it too child oriented that the older kids they seem to be targeting will say "No way! That's for babies." Since Hallmark also owns Crayola they probably are getting enough money from the younger set from that.Tom-sprite wrote:There are so many parents who know old rainbow and loved her so much and I think many would love to buy their children such child-oriented and lovable toys.
Maybe they will have a cartoon soon. These dolls do seem to be aimed towards the same age set as Winx.Tom-sprite wrote:Another strategy could be :

Its really too early to make any kind of a judgement. I still hold hope that they can get their act together.

I just got mine today. They were only a few left. I think the dolls are much cuter in person than internet photos.

@ Wardah :
I do not want to judge the New RB-toyline.
I am not in the position to judge...I can only reveal my individual perception.
But as you admitted they seem to target older kids with this new toy-line and I really don t know why ... there are a lot of products for those older kids like Barbie,Bratz,Winx etc.
I think it s kind of pointless to expose RB into competition with such products.
I hope Hallmark alters course in the future.
A RB-cartoon-series which would be similar to a Winx-cartoon wouldn t be that bad.
At least it would be better then no cartoon at all

But none of those other lines are owned by Hallmark. Actually Barbie seems to have lines that target different age groups such as the fairy and princess stuff for the little kids and the Fashionistas for the older ones and Bratz is pretty much dead since Mattel killed it. Really the current RB while it seems targeted towards older kids so far it has nothing that would make parents of younger kids not want their kids exposed to it. Maybe it is more Hallmark is trying to make something that might appeal to all ages. For example a preschool age girl might have wanted Bratz dolls but most preteens wouldn't be caught dead with a Dora doll.Tom-sprite wrote:But as you admitted they seem to target older kids with this new toy-line and I really don t know why ... there are a lot of products for those older kids like Barbie,Bratz,Winx etc.
