My new job at the Xmas Market

I just finished my first day working at the german christmas market in Birmingham, and what a great day it's been! There are hundreds of different stalls offering german food and drinks, sweets (the big Haribo stall is especially popular), clothes, crafts and arts, jewellery and many more things. It's considered the biggest authentic german xmas market outside of Germany and this year it's a lot bigger than the years before. There are thousands of people right now, I had trouble getting out and home.
So besides eating smoked red sausage I've been selling little "steel men" figures today, all hand crafted with plenty of small details to them, some more useful than others but every single one an amazing piece of steel-art, lol
The guy who runs the shop is from Hamburg, Germany .. I met him yesterday and we talked in german for a while before he offered me the job, how cool is that? It's only temporary, obviously .. but a great experience nonetheless for I get to go to the xmas market all the time now, lmao!! I am working for Build-A-Bear as well, and for the time being things are looking up for me, at least till the end of the year and then I'll have to plan again, we'll see how it goes!
Anyone else going to a nearby christmas fair soon?

Haven't been to any xmas fairs in a long time, but the ones I used to go to were all the sort that sold country style Christmas items and decor. A German market sounds like fun...then again, I love kinder eggs... my grandma used to bring them back for the grandkids when she would visit my uncle and his family. He was stationed over there for the government at the time. I always loved getting the little toys out of the eggs and putting them together.

Schreib ausnahmsweise mal auf Deutsch ! ^^

@ Chibi: Kinder Eggs are the best. (Well they were back in the day!

) I remember buying them for like 50 Pfennig a piece as a kid, nowadays they're 3 times as expensive but they are still very popular. Happy Hippos anyone?
@ tom-sprite:
LOL nobody's going to understand you!!
But yes I do love the christmas atmosphere on the market and I am a regular visitor every year, a spot to meet friends (tho I often go there by myself too) and warm your heart with "Glühwein" after dealing with dozens of mad shoppers trying to find the perfect gifts for their loved ones ... As a retailer you see christmas with different eyes, but the market has never lost its charm! It's my 2nd home, literally!
Nice paper star (snowflake) btw!!

I didn't know xmas markets existed. Sounds like an experience.
If the Haribo you mentioned is the same one responsible for all those excellent gummy candies, that's awesome.

Yep, that would be the one!
So there are no xmas markets around where you live? That's odd.

My siblings never liked the taste of the chocolate either, so they always gave it to me to eat.
