Summer Reading

Anyone else look forward to the summer so they have more time to read? Or is it just me? I love the fact that I have more free time to read and do what I like best. I've been "stocking up" lately for books to have. So far, I have 3 bargain books I picked up over the weekend, 1 book I'm still working on, another book that I've had but haven't read yet, and then I've been using my "fun" money from my paycheck for books instead of collecting. So I have 4 more books to add to all that.

It excites me to know that I have a stack waiting for me to tackle. I enjoy reading of course, always have. When I was little, I even got my books taken away when I got a "C" for a midterm in a class because I read too much and that grade wasn't acceptable. (A's were the accepted grade, B's were all right if you tried your best). Mom and I laugh about it now.

If you're a summer reader, do you tend to stick to a particular "fun" genre? Or do you like to intersperse those with some non-fiction too?

It's just you, Rachy. :P Summer only means more time if you're a student or teacher. Though most teachers get summer jobs so even then there's rarely more time.

XD There still might be students on here! Around here, and where I went to college, many teachers didn't get jobs. There simple either wasn't any available, or they didn't want to do something with teaching again. The short period of time also cuts out a lot. Some of them just wanted to spend time with their family. I had more time to read last summer when I did the factory internship because I was only doing an 8-5 job that did not require any commitment outside of work so to me, that counted as more time because I didn't usually get it.

Anyway, there's also vacations... some people love to go to the beach to read no?

Yeah, I suppose if you want to be technical, a week or two in the summer depending on how much vacation you get would constitute as more time :p Of course, most people go on vacation to spend time with their families. Though I suppose single people might spend that time reading.

XD You've never been on vacation with my family then. Last summer my mom, my sister, and both my brothers took books with them to the beach to read. I didn't take my books down to the beach cause I didn't want them getting sandy or salty. I did whatever...only dad was truly bored!
