USB Memory Sticks

Post by Maki »

This morning I went to Walmart and found memory sticks on sale. For a total of $9.04 each, I bought a pair of 8 GB Hi-speed Jumpdrive S70 from Lexar (when memory matters. Now I can save all my files: photos, text, music, videos, etc. I can even move the files from my floppy discs to the memory sticks, too.

This afternoon, I went to the Dollarama and bought a small container (which holds some slices of cheese) so I won't lose those small sticks.

yay for good deals :)

If you look around thanksgiving(black Friday specials) and around back to school time (like, August/September) they'll have them in really pretty colours for really cheap :D

I get teased at school all the time for having a teal and orange thumb-drives ^.^ black and white is so boring :(

on a side note, we use floppy disc's as coasters around here, so at least, after you've transferred your data, remember, they've still got a use!

No matter what color, I still got them.

And BTW, here in Canada, there's no Black Friday, and Thanksgivig is on a second Monday in October.

Yay for good deals :) I just recently updated my USB drive as well. My poor 4 gb drive wasn't holding all my teacher stuff anymore (silly videos) so I needed something better. I went through Amazon.com though. I'm brand loyal to Sandisk for USB drives (and mp3 players) so I ended up getting a refurb 16 gb Cruzer Micro for $18. Reviews for it were excellent so I figured it couldn't hurt XD

That's worth the same as an 8gb for $9. 4gb stick is not enough for me. That's about the same as a DVD-RW to hold that much.

It is. I prefer the Cruzer Micros because there's no silly cap to lose on the end. You just slide it in and out as needed. I had considered an 8 gb stick but figured that I might as well just go for 4 times what I had so I wouldn't have to worry about when I stored videos on my drive

Last Black Friday (or was it two years ago?) I bought an 8Gb SanDisk cruzer for about $10, I believe. Sometimes, blatant commercialism is a good thing.

@silverorangetears: why do people make fun of you for having colored flash drives? If anything, I would think colors to be more sought after...

Different colors may be a good idea, so I could tell which files I put in. But, I don't see any of them on Sale. They're just same black and white sticks.

Colors would be nice. I just have to settle for my black stick with a white slider. At least it lights up orange when plugged in XD
