Rainbow Brite Fans,

I recently wrote a new poem, about my doggie who died last August. Here it is! I hope you like it (it made my mum cry to read it):

Breath of Life
For: Nermal, my canine soulmate
God thought, and you were in existence.
Soon after your beautiful, blessed birth,
I got to take you home.
Over the years, you've been so loyal, always by my side.
Through thick and thin
Loving me unconditionally as I did you...
you were always my little boy.
But one day, God spoke. He said, "Your purpose has been fulfilled, you must return home".

Your last night with me, we were surrounded by angels all over our bed.

A shadow suddenly hovered over your tiny sleepy body.
Death was knocking...
I knew you were in such agony your last few moments.. and I tried to comfort you the way that you've always been comforted me in times of sorrow.
It seemed like only a few months went by as I had you with me to love one another... 8 years had passed...
God's will be done! He called you home. To me, the LORD didn't give me enough time to spend with you, but it was God's will to bring you home.

As God had breathed life into you, He also took it away, for your stay here was temporary.
As I lay you down to sleep forever, I could not hold back the tears. . .
You just looked me in the eye, somewhat thanking me for ending his misery.
A man listened to your heart as you took your last breath, last heartbeat . . . the LORD let me tell you goodbye as He lifted your spirit from your precious yet painful body. With your spirit, my heart went to you to paradise for eternity with your ultimate master.
It's so hard to say goodbye, but now that I know he is in loving, caring hands. I feel tremendous peace knowing that you are still with us.... in our hearts... forever.
I love you always,
Your earth master,
A.J.

That is a very nice poem. Sorry that you lost your doggie, there's nothing that can ever replace a beloved pet, they trully love you unconditionally, no matter what happens; but you know that they are waiting on the other side of the rainbow bridge to be reunited once again.

Thanks so much for sharing your poem :rbstars:

Aww! Thank you for reading it. What you said here is so true, he will be waiting on the rainbow bridge to be reunited with me. There's a youtube video that I watch often so I can cry and get it out instead of bottling it up inside. It's called: "Saying goodbye Loss of a pet". It's such a beautiful video. :-)
