I thought I'd share this with everyone because the book's note from Dolly echoes Rainbow Brite so well. The book itself is about feelings and relating them to colors of the rainbow and then ends with how we can't always choose how we feel, but we can choose how we act. It's really cute and the illustrator has bright, simple pictures. Now, I've had my own copy of this book for a few months, as I grew up with Dolly and as a child, her music was a source of comfort for me. It was at Ollie's for $4, even though it'd just came out in 2009 and was selling for $18 everywhere else. I bought a copy last night to give to my secret pal at school for Valentine's Day and was flipping through the book when I noticed her note to readers at the very end. Immediately, I thought of the song "Make Room for a Rainbow Inside".
I've included the note for you to see for yourself. If you're near an Ollie's and want the book, check and see if they have it. I got my copy in either November or December and they still had some last night.
When I was just a young child, I wanted to see a rainbow every day. No matter how I was feeling, seeing a rainbow always made me happy. Then one day, I figured out how I could see a rainbow every day--all I had to do was reach up and pull that rainbow right out of the sky and place it in my heart.
May you all carry a rainbow in your heart so whenever you need a moment of joy, you just let that rainbow out of your heart and watch it jump back into the sky!
