So I'm sure someone else besides me has seen that there are now over 1000 topics on the board. It took a year and a few months to do that. It's great to see more things being posted, especially now that the new line has started to come out.
I figured that this would be a good time to see what you hope will happen with the board this year. My one big thing is that more active members join. There's constantly new people joining, but very few of them ever become active members. So I'd like to see more people become really involved with the board this year. Also, we could use more talented fanfic writers!
What do you want to see?

I'd also like to see more active members, and hopefully many of the older RB members from 2004 to rejoin here as well.
I'd also like to see more interesting RB topics on the shows, on collecting and the merchandise, as well as more people willing to buy/sell/trade stuff too!
Even RB meetups would be awesome. (That's for anyone who lives nearby, is well known here, or can travel a ways.) I remember on the old boards some of the members did that and had a great time
I hope this time around RB gets the fan base she deserves!

I don't think there are many of us nearby. If I remember, you and Wendy are in PA. I'm in WV and Fanchan is in Ohio. I think that's the closest that a group of us are.Aquarius wrote:I'd also like to see more active members, and hopefully many of the older RB members from 2004 to rejoin here as well.

Re: Board Expectations for the Year
I'll throw another out there for more members and board activity. There was a time not too long ago when this place was deader than dead. Now suddenly there's life returning to the boards. It's like the place dried out and then..boom!..rain. Thank you Stormy.
We need more of that for our online habitat to thrive.

I am really glad others would like to see more board activity too. I'd like it to get to the point where we have a large core group that are posting actively. I do enjoy waking up in the mornings and finding that quite a few people have posted instead of finding no posts. We are slowly getting to this point so maybe by 2011, we will have twice the usual active posting group.

There's certainly no doubt that the new dolls will bring more members to the forum. They're just not as widely available yet. Once they are, I see new members showing up.

Yes, I am hoping this relaunch does wonders as well for bringing in new members. I have noticed that with the rebirth of MMPR being shown, there is more interest generated in one of my fics that feature those characters. I don't think it's coincidence that the particular fic has less than 10 or no hits for a long period, then last weekend spikes to the 50's, the same weekend the new version began to air. Same thing happened this weekend after the new episodes appeared.J3llyb3ans wrote:There's certainly no doubt that the new dolls will bring more members to the forum. I think we can, and will see a spike. Nostalgia does that to people. Plus, the website for the relaunch is very similar to Katy's. It's easy to type in .net just as well as .com when you're trying to remember how it ended.
Activity can only spawn more activity, right? So as long as those who are currently really active continue to do so, new posters may be encouraged to do the same. Showing new members that yes, this board lives and is often posted to, rather than having them see very little to no posts at all.

I think you may have nailed it right there, Rachy. The best we past members can do is stay active and promote activity for newcomers.Chibi Rachy wrote:

Good to hear your fic is benefiting from the MMPR revival.

Well well .. I am happy to see so many people voting for more activity. I too would like to see some more people join the community again, old and new. We've had 450 members back in the day of which most were active!
