New Bed

Post by Maki »

I had a single bed for years. My sister first had it around the time I was born. Last night I slept in it for the last time. We'll give it to our neighbors from a couple of blocks away. I'm glad we got rid of the old matresses.

A couple of days ago, my mother and I bought my own double bed from a furniture store which would like to get rid of. The bottom one is hard. (My mother's a spring.) This'll be my first spleep tonight in my new double bed.

Congrats! New beds are a lot of fun. We recently got rid of my first single, and still have my canopy single in the guest room. I had a full-size waterbed for a few years, but it got a hole in it during the move. Right now I'm sleeping on a futon on the floor, which is currently my preferred place to sleep. I'll also sleep on my couch now and again, especially if I'm not feeling well. It's a very comfortable couch.

"I don't doubt," Krys said as he paused at the door. "I worry."

That couch is indeed comfortable :) I was quite surprised.

I've had the same bed since I was a kid. My room has always had bunk beds. The only difference is that my brother and I shared a room when we were little. I had top bunk and he had bottom. When he got his own room, I never debunked the beds, and a bigger bed would not fit into my room. I love the top bunk though... the beds themselves were hand-me-downs when we got them, from my dad's parents I believe. Whenever we go out to their house, the same type of beds are still in one of the bedrooms.

I used to have my own single waterbed. Our guest slept in it, but her ring was lost somehwnere in it and poked a hole.

My mother may not find the matching pillow cases, but she could make them.

Woot, I'm jealous now! .. My current bed is sooo uncomfortable that I wake up with pressure marks on my arms. I was thinking of switching to my sofabed, which is so much better!

Enjoy your new bed! :)

Maki, it's nice that you were able to get a new bed since you were tired of your old one. My mattress is twelve years old, but I appreciate the cushiness that its age has caused. I hate firm mattresses. I still use the headboard that I got when I was six, and amazingly enough, the same bed frame that I slept on when I stopped using a crib. Sleep well on your new spot!
