Favorite TV shows of the 80s

Post by Major Ursa »

Since Princess Joy did a nice job on other 80s cartoons, I thought I do one on television shows of the 1980s. As most of us know, the 80s marked the era of the coolest shows on regular over the air and the rising medium of cable TV. It was the era of Nickelodien and MTV. What are your favorite shows of the 80s?

Here are my favorites:

Knight Rider: Before the current version with the Mustang, it was a Pontiac Firebird that was know as KITT. I loved that show alot.

The A Team: A near show about some soldiers of fortune that help the oppressed. It also made Mr. T a star. If Mr. T did a Rainbow Brite character he would say "I pitty the fool that messes around with Rainbow Brite!"

Miami Vice; The coolest show of the 1980s that I'm currently watching on NBC.com. It's about two Miami undercover detectives that go arount in the nicest clothes and a cool Ferarri to boot as well as a speed boat and a sailboat witha guard aligator named Elvis.

Moonlighting: The show that made Bruce Willis a star. A funny show of a model turned detective and a private eye who always argues alot.

Sounds like two certain characters in Star Stealer. :bg:
Rainbow brite fan since 1984.

I was born January of '83 so I don't have memories of a whole lot of the more "grown up" ones i dont think other than cartoon's...I remember watching Mcgyver, Incredible Hulk, Miami Vice, Jake and the Fatman, Magnum PI (use to be one of my favs really young), Magical World of Disney, TGIF on ABC (Full House and Family Matters etc), Night Court, Cosby show etc and i think the ORIGINAL baywatch...might have been the 80's...i always remembered this one particular episode where my favorite character got killed by a great white shark...the beginning of the series was not so blatantly overly sexualized as it became later. In kiddy shows of course there was Ninja Turtles, Teddy Ruxpin, Inspector Gadget, Care Bears, Jem and the Holograms, My Little Pony, Fraggle Rock, Muppet Show, Sesame Street (anyone else cry over the song "i don't want to live on the moon" when they were only like...3? Cause I did...and I dunno why...it just always made me emotional)..just too many to list in 80's tv...now I rarely watch any tv.....it's so crappy now lol
