You're new, so I'll just simply say that backgrounds are optional in the contest, left entirely up to the artist. I wasn't sure if I would have to do a second piece of work for the contest, so I chose not to spend four or five more days perfecting a background.

Thanks for liking it anyway!

Anyways, this artpiece is nice but isn't particularly eye pleasing - with Rainbow Brite and its characters, I generally expect a big splash of.. well... rainbow! A background would have added a LOT to this picture.

It's still good! And very cute. :)

Greetings MindyMouse,

Thank you for your feedback. The background is my fault for it is a request that the images not have backgrounds, unless the artist wants to take the time to draw them, which I leave up to them.

The art is not going to be "exactly" like the show, and "Fanchan" was attempting to copy from a book reference, (if not others). Still, your observations are noted, and appreciated! No one should feel ashamed for voicing their opinions. We hope you enjoy the boards, and perhaps you can suggest something you WOULD like to see. Image

and for good measure...here: Image

If I can just say my two cents, I kind of like images without backgrounds. Not sure exactly why, but maybe it stems from me developing games and my searches for backgroundless images to use as in-game sprites...

backgrounds are still pretty too though.
:)

Ah, something I overlooked, then.

Good luck with future artwork!
