Heads?

I've never tried making a "custom" doll before, but looking at the back of the head has me confused. It seems pretty tightly attached -- how does one go about removing the head to re-thread the hair...and then how do you reattach it again? It is the reattachment bit that has me thrown for a loop.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Or know of an online tutorial?

THANKS! :)

To remove the head you need to cut the cord keeping it attached. It's a plastic strip.

As for re-rooting the hair, you can use BabyDoll's tutorial. It's has been archived on the website: https://www.rainbowbrite.co.uk/index.ph ... &Itemid=96

We hope to have more tutorials for you soon.
Have a Rainbow Day!

Thanks. Now I just need to figure out the best method of RE-attachment. There is a reason I never went to medical school.

I've worked on a few customs, and the absolute best way I found of reattaching the head is the same way it was originally put on, with a tiny, tiny zip tie. Worked like a charm for me =]. Hope that helps!

 I use thin metal wiring for re-attaching heads...

Those plastic 'zip strips' that attach the heads to the bodies are commonly known as Cable Ties, and can be bought in most automotive or home improvement stores.

Sometimes you have to go with a size larger than what originally attached the head because commercially available cable ties in that size are too short to go all the way around the diameter.

It's one of the easy ways to tell one of my customs (since I forgot to sign something like 40% of them), I was never able to find a small sized cable tie that was long enough.
