I was browsing eBay, as we all know I love to do and found a seller that had movie stills from the press kit for Rainbow Brite and the Star Stealer. I would dearly love to buy the one with Stormy, but I can't right now. Maybe next paycheck However, the seller had such high quality images that I figured they'd make great desktop backgrounds. So I saved the files, cropped out the excess white on the sides in MSPaint, and then used the online ResizR program to resize the images for both 1024x768 and 800x600 screens. They are uploaded to my photobucket account with the image sizes intact.

I take no credit for the images, but wanted to share them in background format. They do look quite spiffy!

Note: If your desktop display is set to larger than 1024x768, they'll still work fine. My laptop's default is 1280x800 and there's no stretching to be seen!

I have the press kit actually. I could scan them if you wanted. I wish someone had the color ones or even orginal art >.< I think i have seen the orginal Krys one on someone's site. They have small descriptions below and Skydancer was originaly called Thunder before the movie release.

Wow! I didn't know they changed Skydancer's name from Thunder. Dang... I kinda like Thunder, though Skydancer's still a really pretty name.

No, I have the scanned images of the press kit. That's what I meant by the cropping out the white parts bit. I took out the descriptions around the images. I plan to buy the press kit and the promotion kit, especially since watercolor has pointed me in the proper direction.

It was for the movie as well, but was for the marketing side of it.

At the Nostalgia Factory site. Unfortunately, watercolor and I discovered they've not been selling since the 2008 holiday season...they were supposed to be back up in 2009, but didn't say when. Best thing to do is keep an eye out.

That's how movie stills are sent out. The desktop backgrounds are taken from these. And yes, there is that irony...which is rather amusing
