Rainbow Brite Coloring Books (2004)

Fanchan and I have found these, and thought we'd let those of you know who are in the area of Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware, Ohio, Virginia, West Virginia, New York, and North Carolina. We've each found them at Ollie's Bargain Outlet (which is why certain states are listed above). She got hers in Ohio and I got mine in Maryland.

We've only found the coloring books, but haven't really looked to see if there were any storybooks there too.

These are the books we've found:

Meet the Color Kids (with rainbow pencil)
Friends Forever (activity book)
Twink and the Sprites (includes tattoos)
Enchanted Kingdom (paint with water)
Adventures in Rainbow Land (sticker storybook)
Rainbow Falls (with stickers)
The World of Rainbow Brite (Fanchan found this one; I could not)

If these are something you're wanting, and you're in one of the states where an Ollie's is located, I'd go check and see. We thought it'd be good to let you know, since it appears that more than one is carrying them. Only thing is, you really have to hunt for some of them! They're cheap too. I got 6 books for $8. They range in price from .99 to 1.99 I think. Even so, you'll be able to get them all for $10.

Yeah I saw the regular prices for them on the tag... there would have been no way I'd pay for them at that price... seemed a little crazy

That's awesome, I gotta get to an Ollie's soon. There's a few books that I don't have and I don't want to pay $5 or $6 each. Thanks for the info.

Yeah definitely check it out... the number of books they have depends...I found lots of "Friends Forever" and "Enchanted Kingdom", but these were hard for Fanchan to find. I really wanted to find another copy of "The World of Rainbow Brite" but couldn't. I'm lucky that Fan was able to score one for me though. Let us know what you find at your Ollie's!

I've only ever gotten to color pics from a Rainbow coloring book by printing them off the internet *pouts* I'm not fond of using crayons on normal paper instead of coloring book paper..never seems to look quite right:(

Well, I don't plan to color in these, lol. I want them for collecting. I suppose I could have gotten extras to color in, especially since one of the books has Stormy and Moonglo in it. Actually, two of them do, but the one is a sticker storybook you can't color. It does have the nice mistake of having Stormy riding Sunriser and not Skydancer, even though the book says it's Skydancer.

I'm one of those people who has to have the right colors to color with...I'm very picky about how I go about coloring. I did figure out that this clear lacquer stuff I have seals crayon on paper nicely though. I've only used it on my one Digimon I created from a tennis ball and a pic done on thicker sketchbook paper though. Dunno how it'd hold up on a coloring book page

You could always by Fixative spray if you want to seal your work. I used it on regular computer paper to seal a pencil drawing, and it didn't effect the paper at all. The spray's pretty cheap, too. You can find it at craft stores that sell fine art supplies.

And that Sunriser as Skydancer still makes me giggle. I'm still torn about whether or not I want to keep these books pristine, or if I should just go ahead and have fun with them. Maybe I'll save them for my kids. I dunno @_@

Oh the agony of letting out that inner child and color haha I don't think I could resist if I had it haha I still want this old Jem and the Holograms coloring book i had when I was little....it's like $20 on ebay..or at least was when I last looked for it..I'd still color in it...just make sure I color in the pics good y'know? lol Stay inside the lines and all hehe

I could do that. And yes, Sunriser as Skydancer is quite amusing...she seems to clash on the page with Stormy. I giggled about it in the car when I saw it and mom was wondering why.

I'm gonna keep mine for collecting. I figure they'll have the books there the next time I go since there were so many of at least two of them. As I said though I'm a very picky colorer!
