Rainbow Brite Dinner Set

Post by Roxanne »

Hiya all!

So last saturday I found a Rainbow Brite Dinner Set still in box.
The lady who was selling it said she was lucky to have bought an old stock of a shop that closed down, and the Dinner Set was in there.
She said it is kinda rare to find still in box,
so I'd like to know what you guys think.

Here's a pic;

Hey, that's a great find! I've never seen that before. Do they have another one?

Also, who made it? It's not from Mattel but it looks like it was original 80's stuff. It also looks to be a tea set with the cups and the boiler to heat the water.

If you haven't done so, please go back and read your page under New Members

How cool!! I've never seen one of those before either. Does it have any copyright or manufacturing info on the box? Thanks for sharing :)

Have you put my New Members topic back up maybe? :)
Because I was searching for it this morning and I didn't found it,
or maybe I just looked over it.
If you have put it back up for me to see; Thank you so much!

I can't really say right now at the moment.
I have put away the box in storage,
so that it wouldn't be damaged more.
But I'll take a look at the box ASAP,
and I'll let you know something more as soon as I have checked the box!

Edit; I do remember that the box says 1983 on it.

Nearly EVERYTHING Rainbow Brite says 1983. It has nothing to do with when the item was made.

1983 is the year that Hallmark copyrighted the Rainbow Brite name and all of the characters. That's why you see 1983 on all of the older RB things. The third generation dolls had that marking on them but they were made from 2003 to 2005.

Just ask if you need any technical information about Rainbow Brite from the original dolls from the 80's up to the last edition of 2010 that did not do well in the marketplace. There are other experts on here who will also be happy to share information with you.

There were a LOT of non-Mattel RB toys sold in the UK in the 80's and this could have been one of them.

Roxanne, when you look at this again, please tell us what languages the information on the box are printed in.

Thank you

I'm not sure, but I think it was on UK Ebay not terribly long ago.

Wow, that really is a nice and colorful set! It even has a Sunbeam Hot Shot of sorts to heat the water. Much better that the three US sets from Wolverine that I have. Gotta Get One!!!
