Rainbow Brite lurky prototype

So my Toyfinder friend was able to get the Rainbow Lurky- (as well as another prototype- a sailboat- that was used/pictured in the 1985 dealer catalog) he sent pix so I thought I'd share!

Wow Lurky is awesome! He isn't what I was expecting him to look like, but I still love it

Also, the sailboat is so cute!!

He wasn't what I was expecting either- but I still like him :D - Does someone have a screen-shot of the Rainbow-splashed Lurky from the cartoon?

I certainly wasn't expecting Lurky to look like THAT! I've seen him rainbowed out in a number of the German comics and the stripes tend to be more vertical. I've never seen him with rainbow rings like that prototype.

Cool- I found the screen-shot- hard to say whether the stripes should have been horizontal or vertical- looks like probably somewhere in between :D - it was probably a hard toy to make (my guess as to why he never made it out of prototype stage)
