No prob. You can find it on amazon.co.uk, but there's only one other copy currently and it's got spine damage to it. I haven't seen it on ebay or ebay.co.uk

make your own star sprinkles
(Science experiment/activity)
Wha?

What is this? I know most of the fun kid-safe science projects you can do around the kitchen, but I can't even guess at this.

It's making "Rock Candy". Food Colouring and Sugar in hot water. It's rather interesting. RainbowBrite.Net has the book written out in it's book section.

Ooo, I think I remember hearing about that at some point, the making rock candy as star sprinkles. Though, technically, wouldn't they be colour crystals?

"I don't doubt," Krys said as he paused at the door. "I worry."

Yeah - that and I wouldn't think of either Starsprinkles or Color Crystals as being edible. The Rock Candy thing had crossed my mind as a possible science experiment under the title of "Starsprinkles" but then I thought... wait, that doesn't make any sense at all!

Unless they have a slightly different technique for growing them that gives you individual crystals instead of one huge cluster.

Oh dear... wonder what would happen if Rainbow came across that book and the edible star sprinkles? She'd be so offended! I suppose that's the only crystal experiment they could come up with and they made it eatable...but I think it might have been better to do a crystal garden experiment... you could be growing your own "Color Mines"

Ooo, that's a good idea.

I tried making rock candy once when I was little. I must have done something wrong 'cause it wouldn't work. Never tried again xD

I would think the crystal garden would be more fun...you never know how it'll turn out and you get to mix colors too...I loved doing it and did it for a science fair project one year

you can google it. There's all sorts of recipes... you choose a porous object (charcoal briquets, sponge, brick) and I know you use bluing, but that's all I remember. you can easily find a good one.
