I've just bought some shelving units for my collection. The first two are assembled and as big as they are, they don't hold all my Gen 1 stuff. The two units are 2.6 M or 8.5 Ft long combined and each has four shelves that are 40 CM/16 IN deep. Because I wanted to move them back from the centerline of my attic, I couldn't use the fifth shelf from each set because of the slanted roof. I think I'll have to get one more set.
The effect of the new shelves is stunning! Now I have all of my 18 inch RB dolls together in a straight line on the top shelf. The same for the small RB dolls plus Starlite on the next shelf down and the Color Kids on the third one. The bottom shelf has Kitty, Puppy, Murky, Lurky, wallhangings and some toys.
The next set will have the large Patty and Shy dolls on top along with Baby Brite. Those will be followed by the sprites and anything left over.
After all of that is done, I can get to work on the other three generations.
I've been on an RB rampage lately and will be adding some pretty amazing stuff in the near future...
I will have to get at least one more set of shelves. They cost EUR 80 or USD 105 or so. I couldn't get them today (Sunday) because the big Brico shop where I got the others was closed even though some of the smaller Bricos were open. Monday is a legal holiday here so nothing doing. Tuesday I'll be working in Holland and won't be able to make it back in time. I've also got to squeeze in a trip to Lille one evening this coming week...
Some of the 'pretty amazing stuff' mentioned above includes an MIB Indigo, Murky and Twink from Spain plus three interesting small MIB RB variants from different places.
