And the Baby Brite "Star Belt" was a disappearing/reappearing thing in the show. It was there, then gone from one scene to the next.
To me, I think it looks like an attempt to make a Rainbow Brite "Cabbage Patch Kid" just based on the way to body is shaped, and that COULD be why it was never released.
Also, The "Star" on the "Sphere of Light/Baby Brite's" face is Yellow in the show, and Pink on the doll.
Baby Brite was also a late addition to the show (Because the begining of Rainbow Land was actually released last, nearly a year after Peril in the Pits.) so a lot about her character and her doll, and her appearence in books was again, a money making thing.
I still have my Baby Brite and her "Rainbow" Bottle.
I love her.
