If two of the Color Kids got in fight, for example say... Red Butler and Buddy Blue*, would it be depicted realistically or as the classic cloud or dust and flailing limbs? Or would it depend on how serious the fight was?
*Because in most 80's classic cartoons, boys are least slightly more likely to fight than girls. As opposed to real life where both genders have various likelihoods of resorting to violence.
Color Kids combat question
Re: Color Kids combat question
I think you're right to say that IF they happened to fight, it would depend on the seriousness of the situation. But, honestly, I think it would be very difficult to set it up between them. All of the kids seem to simply agree that Red's Rainbow's number one - the only one that ever got close to getting into a fight with him was Brian, and somehow I think Brian could punt Red a good distance...
Re: Color Kids combat question
Perhaps you're right. But still, eight or more children all living together with no adult supervision? There has to be at least the occasional clash of personalities.
Re: Color Kids combat question
Lol. Yeah, well, technically they're not really children. Not that age makes much of a difference. I think the sprites bicker more than the kids do, though.

If it were to happen we would find out Red's cape has a razor lining to it and Buddy's sweat band can be used like whips. In all seriousness though given the way conflict is handled on the show if actual physical confrontation were shown it would most likely be the cloud and failing limbs variety after a few initial pushes. Which is fine if done correctly the flailing limb cloud can be hilarious.

I have to disagree, I think they really ARE children (can you please explain how you think they aren't - I'm curious), but I don't think they would fight because they all agree that kindness, colors, and happiness are best. Plus they're all on the same side, the hero side.

I think they mean that while they look like children, they technically aren't as their minds continue to age even if their bodies do not.Dialga-Brite wrote:FanChan wrote:Lol. That's exactly what I meant, Rachy. They do appear as children, and they do portray the innocence of children, but they're either long-lived or immortal, and quite old in years. While I can easily concede that they have innocent personalities, and their outlooks on things are very optimistic, but I can't accept that one can live for hundreds of years fighting against evil and unhappiness without it having some sort of affect on them.
There's a philosophy on life that can help one maintain the appearance of innocence despite great tragedy or hardship, that being that no matter how bad things get, so long as you're alive, things are bound to get better. My own faith says that every ounce of suffering will be used for good, for you and for others. These philosophies can allow someone to gracefully overcome the death of a loved one (the previous Rainbow Brite) and trial after trial without losing hope or a light heart. But you still take those things in, and they do grow you up, no matter how you look on the outside.
All of this is not to say that the kids would fight each other ^^;

Yes, all the evil around them would take it's toll. We know Rainbow also visits Earth, so at some point she must have seen what terrible things humans there do.FanChan wrote:That's exactly what I meant, Rachy. If we were to follow in the style of the show, I do think the Color Kids would have simple arguments of sorts, as SwordKing did in the story. It can't all be peachy keen. If we followed outside of the show, what greater effects might the evilness of the worlds around them have?
