Rainbow brite's age?

Post by Dialga-Brite »

How old do you think all the kids in rainbowland are? I've always considered them to all be 8 years old. do you agree?

remember they must be younger than 10 because the 2009 dolls are said by the company to be older than before at age 10.

It's like this...

According to the story of the Mostromurk Menace, Monstro had been kept in his bottle or whatever for over 700 years and that was based on first hand knowledge.

On the other hand, It's commonly accepted that they don't age as far as the eye can see.

And one more. In the book 'Happy Birthday Buddy Blue', there are seven candles on his cake. I take that to mean that the rest of them are six or seven apparent years old.

Personally, I think their facial features give them the look of children of about 4 or 5. Preschoolers in any event.

yeah, I kinda meant how old do they look. In my opinion they will never get older or become adults. so they can still be 8 year olds after 700 years.

Depends on the theory you follow.

Non-Aging: Appears to be 7 or 8 years old, but is hundreds of years old according to information from Monstromurk.

Aging: Appears 7 or 8, but ages each year.

I think most follow the first theory, but there are those who follow the second as well. All depends on what you prefer.

Maybe the 7 candles on his cake represented 700 years. :)

Quite honestly I wonder if people are taking the "700 years" remark too seriously. I mean, dontcha think maybe they just put that on the show as a bit of humor? As for why I think they don't age though I guess is cause I simply don't want them to.

No, I don't think we are taking 700 years too seriously. The world has needed color and goodness since day 1, whenever that was. I suspect that 700 years is just a small fraction of their real ages. Mostromurk was kept in that bottle for 700 years but what about all the time that passed before he was caught?

If a show states it as canon, then it is thus. For all purposes, the 80's cartoon is the canon storyline that was never really given an "end". If I am to use the episodes as research for fanfic and such, then I go along with what has been stated if I want my piece to follow the canon storylines while telling something new. Even if someone in a director's cut were to say "well we used that as a bit of humor", that doesn't change what occurs within the timeline of the show.
