UK DVD's - All Region Free?

I recently bought the two untitled UK RB DVD's:

http://www.rainbowbrite.net/collect/videos.html

And while they SAY they're Region 2, they're actually Region 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 AND 7 and play just fine in my Region 1 DVD player. So I was wondering if any of you in the US or Canada have any of the other 4 UK DVD's and whether or not they also work in Region 1 players?

That's really a great bit of luck though, Katy. It would be interesting to know if the other JETIX dvds from that release are the same because then those of us in the US would at least be able to watch them. I need one with better sound XD The ones I bought are merely a step up from the torrents I have. I got better picture at least.

Katy where did you buy the untitled DVD's from? I've never seen those. I got Vol. 1-3 and they are region 2 as well as copy protected (tho that's not really a problem :P )

Your info about the german DVD is outdated btw. It's been replaced with this one:

http://www.karstadt.de/p/?pid=3459845&c ... regenbogen

From what I heard it is multi language (german / english) and comes with bonus material. The picture quality has also been remastered. Screenshots are from the movie, they got that wrong lol

Amazon.co.uk :)

So you've tried playing them in a non-region-2 player and it didn't work?

Argh! I wonder why they changed it. Do you have a copy? I wonder how the special features differ from the special features on the original.

The german description you posted on your site states that KSM released the first DVD set despite the old source material they had used to create it from, due to extremely high demand from the fans (there was plenty of rumours for a DVD release spreading around on german message boards at the time)

The cover picture was also replaced, people got confused thinking it is the movie rather than the TV series. I am guessing the bonus material is the same, however a friend of mine yet has to confirm this.

I'd buy it from Amazon.de but they don't ship to the UK!!

I hate to say this but those DVD's sound like they're ripped. :/

You mean the untitled ones? I don't know, I haven't got those and neither have I seen them in UK stores (where I got Vol. 1-3) but Katy probably knows more about this.

The german release by KSM Media is official, however.

Try for an Amazon Marketplace Seller if you can find one rather than
Amazon itself. Also, they come up on ebay.de almost daily and for almost nothing. I recently bought a set from a German ebay seller and had no problem getting them sent here.

Ahhh interesting! I just may have to get the new one then.

No, they were put out by Jetix just like Vol 1-3 and the Mega Disc.

EDIT: Scratch what I said before. The DVD's Vol. 1-3 appear to be region free, after all. My current version of PowerDVD shows region 1,2,3,4,5 and 6. That's very interesting Katy! In other words people in the US should be able to play them without any problems unless the discs sold on Amazon.co.uk are different from the ones I got!
