I've seen those 2 specials on YouTube. Both Murky and Twink were about twice the normal size. The only lip-move form the live action character costumes was Rainbow Brite.

Oh, yes, I've known about the other live action RB skits. That's when I first became horrified of her. I just fail to see the need for the giant-ness. It's one thing if everyone on stage is that big, and they're actually on a stage for people in the back row to be able to see. But when you've got regular-sized non-costumed people on-stage, and especially when it's just being filmed, no audience... Was it too expensive to find a child-actress to play her? Who wouldn't have loved that? Seriously? Live action RB with kids playing the parts would be friggin awesome.
"I hope you know what you're doing, Rainbow."
"You still doubt me, after all this time?"
"I don't doubt," Krys said as he paused at the door. "I worry."

-Excerpt from my yet unnamed RB doujinshi.

That's a good idea. It would be more awesome if there were kids that played the RB characters that fit the cartoons, or even a movie with excellent graphics in it. I also find the gigantic RB costumes to be a little weird myself, but hey, it's RB. I love the part in the San Diego Zoo when Murky & Lurky are dressed up as tourists, especially Lurky as a woman. When he calls Murky "dear", that is priceless, lol.

The Rainbow Brite mascot I remembered does not look like any of those. Back in the late 80's we have a Kids show (live audience) called "The Uncle Bob's Lucky 7 Club".
The Rainbow Brite mascot was there to promote the Figurine Panini Sticker Albums. She was well proportioned (when you scale up 3ft. to 5ft.) and looks faithful to the hallmark designs..and she doesn't have that weird red shorts and scary looking eyes. Wish I had a camera back then. She's so cute!
