Could be something like that, maybe unlicensed.

What I think is interesting is that the first one has a Gen 1 illustration and a Gen 4 logo! The second one has a Gen 1 illustration but the logo doesn't match anything I've seen before.

As C9 said, it's most likely not an official product. The one image even mentions custom design on it. Watches of this sort pop up from hong kong all the time. There have been other watches done for the Rainbow Brite series, and you can usually find them for other series that have some sort of international base. I've seen them for other anime series before as well. It's kind of like buying on commission, except you have no say in the final product. Someone's just decided to make a watch for Rainbow because an official one's not available so the next thing is to make a custom designed one.

It's fairly obvious, look how the picture says "custom designs", also the new style RB logo is used together with the 80's style characters, that can't be right if it was an official product.

Still looks rather nice tho

Indeed, they do look very nice. I think it's because of the black combined with the rainbow numerals. Usually you just see a white background, which looks not as nice for some reason.
