Super Rainbow Brite
Soo im back again with another crazy concept, but this time regarding more of the doll line than the actual show. with the release of the dress up rainbow brite soo many years ago i had always thought to myself why did rainbows outfit change? this had always lingered in my head, it wasnt until i discovered Sailor Moon and magical girl genre's that i really started to answer my own questions. My idea at first was that rainbow brite had received a power upgrade, kinda like sailor moon did in the Infinity arc(when she turned into super sailor moon and stuff) her outfit incorperated more colors, and the design was changed just a bit. Now i know im probably getting annoying with the whole comparing rainbow brite with sailor moon but its soo hard not to notice the simalarities. It would be nice if playmates toys would incorperate a "super" outfit for the new rainbow brite. Her outfit redesign was just a let down, its so plain, so generic, i just wish they would have kept her cute little red vest with the rainbow star symbol in the middle, the same goes for tickled pink and moonglo.Of course i know not evryone agress with me and some actual have grown fond of her redesign but somehow its still not sticking with me. I would absolutely love it if someone would do a fanfic regarding the dress up rainbow brite. My question is what would the show have had to explain if they incorperated the dress up design to rainbow?

I also thought so with the dress up outfit. Back years ago I did a gif animation of her transformation really simple nothing spectacular.

I think Sailor Moon, even before she became Super Sailor Moon to Eternal Sailor Moon to Sailor Cosmos (the ultimate form of Sailor Moon in the manga), changed with each season slightly. Her transformation yell went from Moon Prism Power to Cosmic Moon Power. The Scouts went from (for example) Jupiter Power to Jupiter Star Power to Jupiter Planet Power to Jupiter Crystal Power. (I'm not sure which came first, and I'm basing this on the DIC dub because that and the movies are all I've seen, though I've read a lot online.) And new attacks were added each season for each character, as well as changing from the moon wand with the Empyrium Silver Crystal to the brooch. Early seasons showed SM & the Scouts (or Senshi, if you prefer,) simply putting their hands in the air to transform, but later seasons incorporated wands. (Boy is this stretching my memory!)
This would all be neat to incorporate into Rainbow Brite, but I suspect that many would complain. In addition, the story arcs of Sailor Moon are somewhat complicated and hard to follow, especially if you are trying to differentiate between what happened in the Japanese anime, the censored American anime (from DIC which cut the original storyline to shreds), and the manga. So yeah, I would not be in favor of making RB super-complicated!
It would, however, be cool if each Color Kid had his or her own special attack. Would Red Butler yell out "Red Fire!" or would TP have "Pink Elephants?" LOL! Probably more like Pink Sunrise.

hmmm,, i never thought of it that way, it would be somewhat complicated to follow a rainbow brite story like sailor moon's. sailor moon went through soo much to get all those transformations, it would however be freakin awesome but complicated. I do agree with the special powers ordeal regarding each color kid, id love that! Something that caught my eye when i was watching the beggining of rainbow land was how simalar(here i go again) the whole talking flying orb ball thing was to sailor moon's ordeal with sailor cosmos, Rainbow was being guided by an entity she could not see as a physical human being, who eventually helped her save rainbow land just like sailor cosmos did in guiding sailor moon through battling Chaos( chaos in rainbow land being the evil force). Im trying soo hard to make rainbow brite my new sailor moon, oh geez whats wrong with me!!!lol. Oh and indogo joy i completely agree with you, DIC did turn the original japanese story into shreds, the dub wasnt horrible but it did have many flaws.

They would be in the right train of thought to do a magical girl/ more serious like version of RB. It would be very good for sales and would have better more complex story. Sailor Moon is not really all that complicated. If they went along the feel of Princess TuTu that would be really something. But you know Hallmark is just on their game.....
