custom skydancer & starlight on ebay

Post by jazzycreations »

just thought I'd share...they are definity ones I made, but I'm not selling them.
I know some people wanted them. They are both flocked hard starlite & skydancer. The skydancer was the one with the different colors.

Just thought I'd make it known so they sell :)

.
I haven't yet seen the items that stormberryfairy is talking about but it seems to me that there are a number of sellers asking much more than items are worth and hoping that some sucker comes along and pays their price.

Two large MIB RB dolls at just under $300 each from different sellers, let's say at least twice what they're really worth. I can get one from an overpriced shop in Paris that deals in old toys for about $200, which is cheap by comparison.

MIB Baby Brite for about $250 and MIB Lurky in damaged box for $200 (or is it the inverse?) from another seller. These have been up for quite a while and others have sold for much less during that time but they have not lowered their prices. I recently bought TWO MIB Lurkys with good boxes from different sellers within a week of each other for about $35 for the pair (less shipping) while this auction was going on.

MIB Dress Up RB for $350 and MIB TP for $300 (actually not that much over fair value) plus MIB Murky and MIB Red for $75 each, all from one seller.

Worse yet, when someone new to RB trading comes on and sees these inflated prices they think that's the going rate and post their items at about the same prices. I'm sure this copycat selling is how we got the two RB dolls selling for about $300 at the same time from different sellers. One put their's up for $299 and the other came along at $295 about a day later. These people have no idea of what the items are really worth and don't seem to know how to find what they sold for in the past.

I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm increasingly concerned about this trend. I'm looking for a number of MIB RB and SV dolls for various projects and special editions and don't want to be ripped off.

a little, but maybe they are trying to get what they paid for them. I sell them for $100 now. Use to sell for $80. It is best offer & with all the ebay fees.... you know.

Ya well once they see the vintage itmes not selling for $300, they will go lower I guess. Or maybe keep them :)

That Lurky and Baby have been there for close to a year. There's also an MIB Cuddle Star carrier for $60 that started at $70. I offered him $50 (still too much) when it was $70 and later on I offered $45 and he did come down to $60 but he's been trying to get that price for over a year. I told him last summer that if he was still asking that much for in in January (that's right now), I'd offer him $40. I didn't get back in touch with him because I've since gotten two others, both MIB. One was for $30 and included four loose RB items. The other was for $80 and included an MIB...Baby Brite! Then there was the guy asking $400 for an RB cassette player...

Nothing wrong with selling a large Gen 1 MIB for $100 or even a little more if the doll has a turquoise body or red panties. Or a lot more (within reason) for a rare international version that I don't have yet. But really, $300 for a standard USA version, which is plentiful???
