Yeah I liked some darkness to my movies as a kid as well. BUt more I think I was into really epic adventures. Heroes on a quest with villain to defeat. This movie seemed like it had some deep metaphors embedded. As a kid I wouldn't have been able to follow. XD

Aww I really like this movie! I had never heard of it before but that was rather touching. I love watching different types of animation.
