1st series you saw: This answer is two. No one really knew they were watching anime as a kid. Knowing, it was Sailor Moon. If we were to otherwise it would be astroboy, maple town serendipity
Favorite series overall: I don't like just one I like shows by genre. Jungle Taitei/ Kimba is one of my most favorites.
3 top favorites after your above answer: Really impossible to answer since I like them by genre. I love AIR, Clannad, Kanon, Monster, Yakitate Japan, Ojamajo Doremi, Comet-san and so forth.
Current series you're watching:ookami kakushi, kimi no todoke, sayonara zetsubou sensei, durarara, bakemonogatari and a few others
Favorite genres: romance, drama, fantasy, horror, mystery, comedy, some mecha, shounen, shoujo, magical girl....so forth
Conventions you attend: I don't attend them reguarly but I have been to one here (god help me) and the Anime Expo once, which was amazing compared to my city's trash.
Cosplays you do: I'm not much for cosplay. I have cosplayed as Ayu from Kanon and Ruki from Digimon Tamers.
Wendy- You should watch Clannad as mentioned to voyager to do the same. The same creators of both Kanon and AIR. Clannad has much more comedy elements at first but has such a great story and watch the orbs. While they have Angel Beats written by the main writer of AIR and Clannad coming out this April (more action orientated) I will probably have romance/dramatic events as well as comedy too since that is how he writes. *thumbs up* Awesomeness I thoroughly enjoyed AIR and Kanon. We will try and get a hold of Clannad sometime Air was the first one he insisted I watch it because he thought I was so much like Misuzu lol He's my Yukito Though I hope I don't...well...you know...I don't want to spoil it in case anyone else wants to watch it...lol And man... I really want Ayu's angel wing back pack from Kanon!!! (I love wings)

Yay more replies There are too many to quote though so I'm just gonna type names and then my replies. *C9*: Wow, you did Ruki? She's awesome! She was my favorite Tamer of the 3. As for cons, here, Otakon is tops for east coast and is so much better I think than the others I went to. The vibe is so much different. I'm interested to see how Tekkoshocon changes this year...they made it a 4 day con. TheWendyBird: Have you considered a wig? That's what many do. I can do my natural hair for my Taiga cosplay, but for Illya, I've bought a wig. punyichigo: You'll find other Sailor Moon fans here, as I'm sure you know. I think you know about Tom, but Wolf Ranger (when he appears) is also a Sailor Moon fan

And I don't believe I've heard the term iyashikei used. What sort of genre is that? There are a few cons nearby. Usually in the summer. I'll keep my eyes open them. Iyashikei is a genre characterized by slice of life stories with a relaxing, healing feel to them. They can contain sc-fi or fantasy elements as well. Some titles in the genre are Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou, Binchou-tan and Aria. [quote="punyichigo"]favorite series overall: Sailor Moon (my favorite being the Sailor Stars Arc)/quote] My favorite arc of the series as well. If we had been given top ten favorite anime series, I would have listed Sailor Moon somewhere on there.

Youtube's recommended section actually did something really good for once. Frankly, I had no idea that Digimon movie #6 had been dubbed at all. It was one of my favorites since it dealt with Tamers and Ruki. (No I won't use her English name since I don't like it). Youtube's recommended section had a clip from the movie where Ruki was singing. At the time when I clicked on it, I thought it was going to be from the Japanese version with her singing Yuuhi no Yakusoku. Imagine my surprise when it was in English... thus I went on a hunt for the dubbed version and had to watch it. Embedding is disabled for it, but here's a link to a vid that has both versions of the song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IvHwHfMiHBIYes, I did enjoy both versions and I'm quite biased as Ruki was my favorite Tamer, and my favorite Digimon kid overall. After Tamers, I stopped watching the future seasons so much because Tamers was a high point for me.

Well, I watched the latest release of Sgt. Frog in English. That just keeps getting better and better in my opinion.
I then tried to find something new to watch and I was in the mood for yuri. First I tried Kasimasi, but I got so bored that I quit halfway through. It just drove me crazy. I just couldn't stand it. So I decided to try Simoun, which I had seen previews for on my Strawberry Panic set. I've watched the first ep, and I'm hooked. The one set remind me of Stormy and Moonglo in a sense. Really, it's the hair I think that starts it. The character art is so pretty, and those eyes... oh dear those eyes draw you in. I've seen the first ep and I'm hooked.

Wendy: Yeah you can rent it, buy it or see it online. There are a lot of sites streaming anime now. They are releasing it in Blu ray in Japan with subtitles but for 600 dollars for both seasons (anime in Japan is so expensive). It was a long game so it had to be two seasons.
Chibi- Yeah that was when I saw it back in 2001 when I was in Japan. I even got to see the movie the one with the digital pet, in theaters. I was so excited. Ruki and Mimi are my favorite. Tamers was the best season of all I agree. Disney bought the rights to Dimimon and they went back to it and dubbed the remaining movies. Sadly. I can not stand dubs what so ever, Digimon getting the worst of it.
One of favorite comedy shows is Yakitate Japan. It is so ridiculous but really funny. You may like it.

One of favorite comedy shows is Yakitate Japan. It is so ridiculous but really funny. You may like it. Yay for another Ruki fan I also loved Mimi, and Sora too. Miyako was all right and she was my favorite for Adenture 02, but certainly not an overall favorite. Hikari was definitely not a favorite. I never saw Digimon subbed, save for the movies I have. I saw up until Movie 6. Everything else I watched dubbed. Of course, these days I'll watch everything subbed first, and then if I really enjoyed it, I'll go back and watch the dub. Okay so I don't watch everything subbed. Sgt. Frog I've always seen dubbed and that suits me fine. Crayon Shin-chan I've seen dubbed, but I've also seen the subs for it. So I guess I could say with the comedy genre, I really don't mind just watching dubs. I finished watching Simoun. Being off from school because of snow has its benefits... I finished 24 eps in a day. I'd watched the first two the night before. It was beautiful and the ending was nice. I did enjoy how everything just didn't end after the war ended and that they took a few more episodes to tie up some ends and show Aeru and Neviril's Emerald Ri Maajon. So getting it on DVD.

I ve totally forgotten to add "Utena" to my favourite anime-series. I highly recommend Utena ... it s different and mysterious. The opening song is very nice too. I like both the mangas and the anime ...the original art of Chiho Saito is alsao great ... artbooks are totally cute and beautiful !

To what Utena is based from I would recommend Princess Sapphire. It is much older but a really great series. If any has a certain intrest in genre I can try to recommend some titles.
Tom a new Pretty Cure is out by some of the same staff as Ojamajo Doremi. I would say it is the best Pretty Cure series of them all. Heartcatch Pretty Cure. It is being subbed now. In general I'm not much of a Pretty Cure fan but this I like.
