Rainbow Brite in Japan?

So I stumbled across this article talking about a store in Japan that says "6% Dokidoki, a colorful Harajuku clothing store that was originally inspired by 1990s rave culture and Lolita fashion but in the last few years is increasingly obsessed with Care Bears, Rainbow Brite, and macaroni and cheese."

And there's an adorable (yet weird) music video that's "literred with that 1980s Americana" but I didn't see one Rainbow Brite item. So I got to searching around for this 6% Dokidoki and came across this...a Popples exhibit!!

It even features original artwork for the series! Wouldn't it be SO COOL if they ever did something like that for RB??

I own a number of 6%DokiDoki products, but nothing based on 80s cartoons. I can't really recall the last time I shopped with them, but I seem to remember they did have a lot of Care Bears stuff -- I believe they have a license?

That is really cool! I had seen Popples in Harajuku Kiddy Land but this is amazing! I would love to own those original works or one at least!

I asked them about RB on their Facebook page. They don't have the license

But they do love RB! Perhaps they'll get a license someday

I really miss cartoons like Popples ... when I was a kid my mum bought me a Pobbles comic and I immediately loved them ... I had one little Pobbles plushie ... it was a flower-Pobble ... it was blue and yellow.

Rainbow brite was always my fav despite all ! :-)

That is so cool! I am a Popples collector and own almost every Popple.
The room is amazing, and that is exactly what I would do if I had the space;
Create a special room for everything that I collect.
A Rainbow Brite room like that would also look amazing!!
